After Keira Knightley’s Anna Karenina, Hollywood is again capitalizing on controversial female literary (period) characters. I’m still unsure about Mia Wasikowska’s casting here because I don’t quite connect with Mia in her other films. I imagined Emma Bovary to be a played a more veteran, multi-dimensional actress (I know this is already saying a lot of my first impressions). Let’s just wait and see.
